Hi! I’m Theresa aka The Mother Lode. I’m a wife, writer and mom to three great kids….one of whom was diagnosed with ADHD several years ago.
My goal – my passion – is to help parents take a fresh look at their kids and consider the tremendous giftings and unique talents that frequently lay on just the other side of a “label”.
If you suspect your child has ADHD or learning differences…please hang out with me a bit and let’s talk! My goal is to encourage you and maybe share a new perspective that will breathe fresh new life into your home. And….you may even have a laugh along the way.
I’ve been writing for several years on topics relating to parenting and home life and am also available to speak at your group on learning differences.
I may be reached here.

Hello Theresa,
I just put up my new blog myspellingsucks.com and I have added your blog as a link. I only have 2 posts and my about me page done so far but I wanted to ask you to take a look.
I’m also trying to put a book together that covers my life and experiences with dyslexia, ADD and Haley’s CP. Do you have any suggestions.
Anyway I hope all is going well.

Great to see you at Krogers today. Hope all is well.
We had our Christian Writers Circle in my home and I am showing your site to one of my friends who happens to be a Special Education Elementary teacher at Lipscomb Elementary School in Brentwood and also a strong Christian sister. She has many writing ideas for children.
Look forward to having a chat and seeing if you are available to give a writing testimony to our group.
Blessings to you,
Judy

Hi Teresa, I love your website. I have a 19 y.o. son who is SUPER ADHD and was homeschooled all his life. Now he is at Montana Wilderness School of the Bible for one year and plans to start an engineering major at MT Tech in the fall. What we did for him this year (his first year away from homeschool and in college) is pay him for each A and a whole lot less for each B, and nothing for any grades lower. Surprise, surprise, he has gotten almost all A’s. So I have found that to “help” my ADHD kid transition to college, rewards have been very useful!

Hi Theresa,
It was so great meeting you again this morning. I know that this will be the beginning of a great friendship. I am so glad that you moved here from Tennessee. You are a very delightful and encouraging person. Looking forward to seeing you again. I would love to read your book. I know that ADHD and autism are related. I can’t wait to meet your children.
Sincerely,
Lauri Ann Aksamit, Cottonwood, AZ
What a beautiful post about finding/looking for the artist inside of us. It is a true loss to our society for undervaluing someone due to their job status and not recognizing true beauty in work well done.
Your website is wonderful and realistic. Finding these qualities is not an easy task-
Your faithful buddy,
Janet
I like how you have arranged your site and wish you much luck! I invite you to check out our projects at http://kartwheels.org/
Good thoughts, Karen
